A quiet walk in carefully tendered grounds brings you to Lichfield Cathedral. It felt like a personal pilgrimage to turn the corner from Mister Pool as you're drawn to the three spires. Highly recommended if you're visiting Lichfield with plenty of coffee shops for a sit down.

Would highly recommend visiting the cathedral, especially now. There's an exhibition on right now, based on paintings of the cathedral over the centuries. The star of the show is the Turner painting, which is going to be sold by Sotheby's. I loved the mixed media work by John Piper, who designed the stained glass windows of Coventry Cathedral. Look above the door of that "room" to see the Mediaeval wall painting.

Visited the Cathedral to see the Turner painting of the Cathedral. A small free show that includes works by other artists including Piper and Girtin. You are asked to make a donation.
The exhibition is only there for a few more weeks before the painting is auctioned by Sotherbys.
The Cathedral itself is a beautiful piece of architecture and is well worth seeing. We walked through the city and ate at The Stables.

Lichfield Cathedral is simply stunning something I'm sure the town is extremely proud of. No visit to the town is complete without checking this place out. Five stars all day long.
