An absolutely magical cathedral--this must be among the very best cathedrals in the world. Please do not visit Lichfield and not pay a visit to the Cathedral.

We liked everything about the cathedral. The staff were also so helpful and knowledgeable; we so loved watching the jackdaw's who had set up home in the walls of the great building! It was amazing to hear the chicks as the mother came back with food for them. A beautiful, tranquil and inspiring visit.

Beautiful cathedral in serene setting, worth a half hour wander around inside. The architecture is stunning and gives a real sense of history. Theres a tea shop just outside with a pretty enclosed rear garden which is pleasant for sitting in after touring the cathedral.

Great building and in good condition throughout
Shame the stained glass is awaiting replacement but this is progress at the end of the day
No parking in the closest all but nearby pay and display
There is a shop inside and a nearby cafe

Its an impressive structure and towers above the landscape of Lichfield. Not much to do inside but admire the architecture and the effort it took to build it.

Come rain or shine, Lichfield Cathedral is worth a visit, if only to marvel at the size and architectural majesty of the place.

Spectacular cathedral with lots of intricate stonework and very knowledgeable volunteers who can explain many different aspects of the cathedrals history.

In June 2007 I had the honour of be the co-organiser of the Midlands 150th Anniversary of the first investiture of the Victoria Cross " Remembering the Gallantry and the Valour". We had 150 Royal British Legion an Royal British Legion Scotland banners and standards paraded for the occasion. Lichfield cathedral is such a magnificent place to hold such an event we were able to accommodate over 2000 people, descendants and family of people who had been awarded both honours. But from an ordinary visitors perspective it's well worth ta visit. I have been there many times and have enjoyed the experience.
Many interesting historical relics on view, from the Regiment Colours laid up to some many memorials within the confines of the cloisters.
