I live in Lichfield so visit here regularly. It is a beautiful and very well kept Cathedral. I bring all my friends and visitors here and everyone always enjoys their visit. Lovely cup of tea and slice of cake at the Tea Rooms too and a lovely gift shop where you can buy a souvenir of your visit. I love walking round the Cathedral and have attended some services there. I always feel very relaxed and tranquil after a visit. Highly recommend you go,

Lichfield is a lovely city but the Cathedral adds so much. It is the most calming, tranquil and just amazing place to visit. Young and old will find something there. If you are lucky enough the choir may be in rehersal or the organist playing - wow!

My husband and I visited Lichfield last year and while we were walking through the town on the Sunday evening we decided to have a look in the catherdral. I was very beautiful and quiet however we noticed that part of the church was roped off. My husband walked up to the rope and one of the men stood by it opened it for him and he walked through. I followed him and was then shown to a pew and given a service sheet. It was then that I realised that we had stumbled into the evensong service. We are not really religious however we decided to stay and take part. The service was about 30 minutes long and was very uplifting especially when the choir sang.
Although this was not what we had gone for we both found the service added to our visit to the cathedral and enjoyed it.
Unfortunatly we didn't really have any time to look around the church much after that as we had to get back to the hotel for our meal. I would recommend a visit where or not you are religious and whether you take part in a service or not is up to you but we enjoyed it.

Visited Lichfield Cathedral in Dec 2011, hence this review is a bit late. However I really fnd this visit most memorable and 5 years down the road still remember the visit here vividly. The cathedral is architecturally beautiful. The atmosphere inside is serene and calm. I visited at a time when Eucharist sevice was just starting at St Stephen's Chapel within the cathedral, and had the wonderful privilege of joining in. It was a spiritual and most memorable experience.

Being local I am so proud of this superb building.
It has sheer beauty and scale.
It makes you hushed and respectfull.
Go there, enjoy and I hope you agree.
The town of Lichfield is also worth an hour to two.

This is a beautiful cathedral to visit. Outstanding glass work in chancel windows, interesting memorials and numerous artefacts and places of historical interest. Great architecture provides an awe inspiring space to spend at least two hours.

What can you say about a very large, three spired cathedral. Very impressive and easily accessed. Don't miss.

Enjoyed this visit. Would have recorded this as excellent had they not been preparing for the Lichfield festival. The noise meant that some of the atmosphere was lost.
However we found the prayer stops pertinent and were pleased to be able to ask for a prayer to be included.
Will visit again when it is quiet

This is a large impressive cathedral in Lichfield and well worth a look round. I'm not religious but appreciate good architecture and the pomp of religious buildings and this has both in spadefuls. The stained glass and ceilings are amazing.

There was an event going on when we visited but we were still welcomed in to look round. We saw the vicar on our way out who made a beeline over to us to ask us what we thought.
