Stunning building and architecture. Entry is free, just make a donation towards upkeep.
Spent a good 10 minutes looking at outside of cathedral including the many stone carvings set in the walls. Inside is beautiful and stained glass windows amazing. They were rehearsing for an evening concert the day we visited so also treated to fabulous choir and soloists. Sounded amazing inside cathedral.

Lets face it Lichfield Cathedral is stunning and if it were not for the great help of the kind hearted volunteers and the donations made, it would struggle to stay open I imagine . However, the "in your face" approach by one of the greeters two weekends ago was completely unacceptable. As visitors entered the building she approached them, blocking their pathway, and said "There is no set fee but we do ask for a donation. Would you like to pay by cash or card?" She knew what she was doing, she was putting pressure on people to pay. The card payment machine defaulted to £5 and in order to choose a different amount you had navigate yourself to a different screen.

As it happened I slipped past that woman and donated money at another pay point in the church through choice not pressure..

Poor people should be able to enter the cathedral to pray without being met with confrontational greeters whose skills would be better suited to selling Time Shares in mainland Spain.

We went to the 'Threads Through Creation' exhibition - entirely free. Wow, it was very impressive! The series of silk tapestries relate the Creation story and the fall of Adam and Eve. The detail is incredible. You could stand and study each one for a long time, and still spot something new when you return to look again! There are explanatory texts with each one. The staff were very friendly and informative, making the whole experience wonderful.
Tea and cake at Bistro No 19 afterwards made for a perfect morning out!

The perfect addition to our christening party, all the children loved it and got involved the whole time. We had so many compliments from other parents saying how much their kids enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for party entertainment!

My little boy had the best party ever on Sunday. Delia was outstanding-she just kept going and kept giving. The children were fully entertained with activities, games and movement. I have booked for next year already!!
