Had a great visit to Lichfield Cathedral. Mark, our tour guide, was brilliant — friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything feel really engaging without going over the top. The whole experience was informative and relaxed, with a genuinely warm atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Really enjoyed our 90 minute tower tour on Sunday. Informative tour guides - David and George - and a really great experience to be inside the towers of the cathedral. Would definitely recommend (as long as you don’t mind climbing lots of stairs!)

The tower tour is fantastic, George and Graham took a group of us 12 in total up the narrow and steep staircase to the roof top. Both are very knowledgeable and entertaining. We continued on to the tower, it was a squeeze but the views in all directions was fantastic. Thank you Graham and George

Absolutely excellent Tour of the Tower this afternoon! George and Andy were very knowledgeable and we were all in awe of George’s knowledge and Passion for the Cathedral! It is a tour that is really worth doing to learn all about the History of the Cathedral and see the fantastic views looking out over Lichfield! George is a young man who will go far- well done George. Enjoy your third year at Birmingham!👍

Attended a show at the Cathedral. I have been to a few at this venue , but this show Tunde of The Lighthouse Family was by far the best. Amazing venue, well organised and friendly staff some of which are volunteers.
The accoustics sound great in the venue too.
Bar on site .

Magnificent structure that you do not want to miss exploring, so much to see and admire with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The story behind the Dark Oak table is fascinating and a fabulous sight.

A statuesque building, detailed stonework, height and breadth giving it beauty. We found it reminiscent of Lincoln Cathedral, but on a smaller scale, lacking that grandeur. That said the smaller size makes it feel manageable and accessible.
A shout out to the ladies on the desk, who were super friendly and informative and genuinely pleased to be welcoming visitors to a building that they clearly love.
Inside, it is a light and airy space. There was clearly a concert or event being prepared for, with staging erected at the back. The testing of the PA system seemed rather out of kilter with the peace of the place but, of course, it did need to be tested, so can't complain.
Services continued to take place whilst visitors walked around and it was a lovely touch that we were told over the system that congregants would be praying for us.
The cathedral is currently hosting The Fenland Black Oak Table, a stunning and huge table made from a black oak from 5000 years ago, a must see.
As regular visitors to cathedrals and places of Worship, this didn't have that wonderful sense of spirituality that one seeks. Of course, much of that could have been to do with the stage, scaffolding and PA testing. plus I fully acknowledge that we all enter a church with different expectations, backgrounds and purposes and that is the beauty of them, their ability to meet so many diverse needs.
Definitely worth a visit, for historians, for photographers and just for those seeking peace and quiet.
