Lichfield Cathedral is one of the finest and most beautiful in the country
But unlike many other cathedrals, Lichfield is free to visit.
They make a charge is you wish to use your camera inside, but entry is free.

There are free guide leaflet to guide you round the cathedral's sights, displays of the cathedral's treasures and small exhibitions.
There is a small shop in the cathedral, and the cathedral bookshop is opposite.

A piece of history which when you live in the area is often dismissed as too local to visit. The architechture is magnificent and there is plenty of opportunity to learn on a visit to the Cathedral.

Lichfield Cathedral is an architectural gem full of history. I sand there in the 1960's as part of the Midlands School Choirs Annual Choral Event and have loved it ever since

Well worth a visit if you are travelling through the Midlands. Easy access from the centre of a real market town too. The grave of the first Anglican Archbishop of New Zealand can be found on site and a chapel to him also

We stayed on Dam St. Facing the cathedral. So we had the pleasure to visit all hours. We done a night walk around to add a bit spook to the place. With all it's statues mounted on its walls it certainly gave it that feeling. During the day it was good to see the beauty inside & out. Camera pass is £2 defo worth getting that. It's free to go in and donations can be given at the end. Tours are available I believe.

This is a very interesting cathedral in a stunning location by the river and adjacent to a lovely park. An oasis of peace on a busy summer's day !
