We enjoyed our trip to the Cathedral with its three spires. The interior is splendid and majestic and the exterior has much decoration. Not on a par with winchester but delightful nontheless.

A place to go if you are in midlands. Stunning building and stained glass windows! Free but you should make a donation to the charity to keep this place open for tourists!

well worth a visit if you are in Lichfield. On the day we went there was an Art Exhibition A painting had been donated to the Cathedral and once the Exhibition has finished it will be auctioned off with the proceedings going to the Cathedral. Even without the Art it is still worth the tour.

All our medieval cathedrals are magnificent and Lichfield is no exception. Its setting in the classic cathedral close is particularly harmonious and the riot of statues on the west front is breathtaking. Staffordshire's historic industry has sadly blackened its glorious local red sandstone but its interior is very lovely. No visit to the city is complete without a visit.

Sadly we didn't have as long as we had hoped for to take in this splendid Cathedral. The approach itself is amazing, with its three spires! The sand stone facade is very dark but I guess it might be very difficult to clean it.
It is free to enter this place of worship but donations towards its enormous upkeep are appreciated, especially if you gift aid.
The ceiling is hugely vaulted and intricate. Heavenly stain glass windows, tombs of famous people and saints. The floor in front of the alters is so beautiful. We would have loved to spent more time there. It is a pity that the Coffee Shop is down the road a little next to the two toilets. The gardens in the vicinity are well worth a look too.

We visited late afternoon and took the opportunity to attend Evensong, which was beautiful.
We have visited many Cathedrals it is a good way of seeing something of our country, and Lichfield is up there with the best of them plus very unusually there is no entrance charge, they exist on donations.

This building is truly wonderful. From the multitude of figures on the front facade to the historical flags and military memorabilia for local regiments. There are lots of surprises too. The Cathedral also has a shop opposite the front entrance. My visitors were very impressed.

Nice to see no compulsary entrance fee but happily gave a donation. The cathedral is lovely and interesting but not on an epic scale. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Wow! What an amazing building, it literally took our breath away, then to be told it was free to enter but could donate if you wanted to, we gave generously and did our tour, very interesting facts and history to be absorbed while wondering through the different areas of the cathedral. I would recommend a visit it was awesome.

This is the best cathedral I have visited by far placed in the heart of a wonderful city.
Lichfield and its cathedral are a must visit.
