A very special place. My wife and I explored only half of the memorials which are very varied and range from amusing to emotionally challenging. We place a RBL cross there each November in memory of my wife's grandad who perished near Ypres in January 1915, my father who was probably the only ski troop to serve in Burma!, and to my mum who was in the ATS.<br>Good to see school parties learning our history.<br>Excellent restaurant for lunch and very helpful staff, most of whom are volunteers. Dog friendly and good facilities for the less able. Playground and plenty of picnic spots by the river.<br>Make it a must visit if not a pilgrimage.

We visited for the Christmas illuminations. They have done a good job with the layout and lighting effects. Worth a visit but recognise that it is a sombre place.
