We had an hour to spare this morning so had a walk around the cathedral. The architecture is amazing, and inside the staff are friendly and helpful. Free entry but donations are welcome.

This was a free experience and was absolutely beautiful and moving. It started with a typical living room of the time from which soldiers would be departing for France. You walked through a field of poppies and on through a 'tunnel' into France. You could listen to readings recorded by people such as Eddie Redmayne and the Archbishop of Canterbury etc. There were lots of seats whereby you could sit and listen or just reflect.
Limited numbers of people were admitted at a time to keep the right atmosphere and get the most out of the experience.

Went to Lichfield cathedral and the town center the cathedral is a lovely old building with plenty of history the people of Lichfield are friendly , we had a couple of meals at the cathedral cafe and it was nice and fresh we will definitely go back . The cathedral is free entry but do like you to make a donation to help with the upkeep of the building.

Possibly one of the most beautiful cathedrals I have seen, free though they ask for a donation at the door and it is definitely worth a donation. Very pretty, a shame that the bell tower is not open at the moment.

A great cultural marvel in the heart of an historic city with vibrant character, its current Battle of the Somme expedition was very heartwarming as well in such a magnificent building. A must see for any visitor to Lichfield, especially with free entry!

Beautiful piece of architecture.
If in the area, this is worth a detour.
For some reason this is one of the places that seems to be overlooked by overseas tourists so it is quieter than many similar places. Historic city on a river with beautiful and historic architecture.

Amazing Cathedral, well worth a visit! The Close is also great, pay a trip to the Cathedral bookshop and admire the view over Stowe Pool. The cathedral is in excellent condition and you can take a tour up one of the spires, best to check times prior to visiting!
There are so many great events here too, from the Medieval Market to Lichfield Festival and more recently the light shows.
