The team at Pool House looked after our dogs over 15 years in total. Most recently when our 15 year old Jack Russel Meg was poorly and sadly had to be put to sleep.
The whole team were great
- Vicky and the receptionist team were always so helpful fitting us in at short notice and being so very compassionate
- Alex an amazing vet who spent time not just examining Meg but explaining options to us in great detail
Thank you
Certainly would highly recommend Pool House

Been here a few times now and always something else to stop and ponder over.
Dogs allowed on a lead, cafe and drinks available on site. Friendly and helpful staff, fantastic place pity so many had to die for it.

Ride to the wall October. Over 7,000 motorbikes raising money for the fallen. What a great place this is, been on my bucket list for awhile. The grounds are well kept with plenty of seating around so you can take time to sit and reflect. The walls with the names of the fallen make you realise how lucky we are and sad they didn't make it home. There is a large cafe and a museum, it's not very large but good to see. Public transport on the day is not good as the road going into Alrewas village is closed because of all the bikes. So I had to get off the bus at another village and come back, as I bus takes a different route it comes in on another road to the Alrewas village. There is a bit of a walk from the bus stop. Maybe they need a shuttle bus from Lichfield

My partner and I visited the arboretum today (Tuesday 8th October). We arrived at the opening time and spent a total of 4.5 hours there. We saw the majority of the memorials making it all the way to the end of the site to see the Great War Christmas Truce memorial. Of course there were undoubtedly some we missed as there is so much to see and appreciate. It was a beautiful place of reflection and one I’d been wanting to visit for some time.
One of the guides/ team at the arboretum whose name badge was Malcolm Adam’s was really friendly and informative. We first bumped into him at the top of the armed forces memorial and again at the end of our visit near the memorial for the Hawks where he gave us some insight about the memorial. Thanks to him for making our visit so enjoyable.
If you’re thinking about whether it’s worth the trip it most certainly is.
