Amid rising tensions between England and France, the young and determined King Henry V claims his right to the French throne. With stirring rhetoric and unshakable resolve, he leads his outnumbered army into the brutal fields of war. Against overwhelming odds, Henry’s forces achieve a stunning victory at the Battle of Agincourt, cementing his legacy as a warrior king. But beneath the triumph lies the cost of war, the burden of leadership, and the fleeting nature of glory. A of ambition, power, and the weight of kingship. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
Information for audience:
Bookings and Seating
For this year’s production, the company will take full advantage of the beautiful Italian Gardens at Maple Hayes School to stage an al fresco production of ‘Henry V.' Seating is on straw bales to complement the setting and we ask that audiences do not bring their own chairs. (Cushions and blankets are welcome!)
Booking ahead online is advisable due to the popularity of the event and seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis. A small number of tickets might be available on the door the evening of the performances.
There is a bar on site and picnics before the performance are welcome.
Weather
Like previous years, Shakespeare in the Park will take place in all weather conditions, unless deemed dangerous. Therefore, we encourage audience to bring blankets and plenty of layers, as well as raincoats or waterproof clothing - the performance will go ahead even if there is rain!
