Are you over 55? No longer in full-time work? Come and meet members of Lichfield u3a at our monthly meeting in the Guildhall, 2pm-3pm + tea/coffee, on the second Wednesday of each month.
It's currently FREE to all; we may charge a nominal fee in future. We have a wide variety of talks - the topics are listed on our website (under events), and on a poster outside the Guildhall, or we can email the list to you.
Email/phone to let us know you're coming, or ask for more info: Lichfieldu3a@gmail.com or leave a message on 07510 634476.
Our members run many low-cost local groups, from Art to Walking: find one you like!
February meeting:
Katy Shore-Kapsis, Chair of the Lichfield Waterworks Trust, describes the remarkable career of the engineer, philanthropist and politician, John Robinson McLean. He was the first person to be sole owner of a main line railway, and became famous for securing a fresh water supply to overcome persistent outbreaks of cholera in the Walsall/Lichfield area, taking no salary for his work.
