The Trust works tirelessly to conserve and protect this outstanding nineteenth-century site and its associated infrastructure, ensuring it remains a valued part of Lichfield’s cultural and industrial heritage. At the heart of the complex lies the impressive 1873 Cornish Beam Engine — a rare and historically significant piece of Victorian engineering, carefully maintained for future generations to enjoy.
Visitors are welcome to explore the site, with drop-in days held every Tuesday and Friday. Sandfields Pumping Station also hosts educational tours, arts performances, and community events, with several areas available for hire — helping to keep this vital piece of history alive and accessible to all.
