The show is an annual event organised by the Friends of Middleton Park and is open to the public, free of charge. As well as showcasing the talents of local singers, dancers and bands it is also an opportunity for local craftspeople and home bakers to sell their produce. The event brings together the local community and is a fun day out for all family (weather permitting). The show has been going for over 10 years and footfall has increased year on year. As well as stalls there is also a chance for local residents to exhibit their talents at baking, handicrafts or growing fruit and vegetables in the competition categories. The show includes other attractions e.g. birds of prey, donkey rides, brass band and steel drums. The park itself is an attraction and people visit from far and wide to walk around the 200 acres of ancient woodland, visit the cafe, go on the steam train, use the Urban Bike Park, the bowling green or tennis/basketball courts. The park itself covers 630 acres.
Free parking is available on Town Street and the surrounding streets. Pay and display parking is available at Leeds Urban Bike Park, which is a 5mins walk from the main event. Blue badge holders can park on-site (subject to availability) but will need to enter by the Town Street entrance and speak to the stewards at the gate.
