THE BUSINESS NETWORK

The Business Network – Lancaster & South Lakes is a rapidly expanding, monthly, lunchtime networking event at which business owners or senior decision makers are able to develop business contacts.

The events rotate around three different venues Lancaster House hotel, Lancaster, Lakeside Hotel, Newby Bridge and the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal.

The format is relaxed and informal but to help business owners who have not attended before to evaluate the benefits they will get from joining Michelle Malkin, who runs this group, has put together a couple of the more frequently asked  questions, and their answers, below.

1.            Can you tell me about your events?

The Business Network meets on a monthly basis with the aim of providing an ideal forum and format for attendees to develop their business contacts – we are all about meeting face to face and helping companies to grow their business.

2.            Can you tell me the format for the events?

Prior to the networking lunch there is often a Free Pre-lunch Seminars, presented by the members, on topical issues.  The topics may range from Negotiation Skills, Presentation & Speaking Skills, Changes to Employment Law Issues, How To get The Most From Your IT, Successful Networking and so on. Information on this month’s seminars can be found on the our website www.business-network-lancaster.co.uk  under Next Events.

Normally the seminars run from 10:30 am with registration, tea and coffee at 10:00 am.

The networking lunch then follows with a welcome reception and ‘Free-Range Networking’ running from 12.00 noon until you take your seats at around 12:30 pm.  We have developed software over the years to help make the seating plan as relevant to those attending as possible, ensuring you sit with a mix of business categories. Members have the opportunity to make seating request if particular individuals, companies or categories are relevant to them.  The aim is to enable other business decision makers to get to know you, learn about your company and the solutions you provide for your clients, and to help this happen each person has a few minutes to explain the services and products their company offers and business cards are exchanged.

There is a speaker from the membership at lunchtime and then you have the opportunity to meet other members and guests at the various tables. There is a business focus to our events and one of our roles is to make sure we do all we can to help members with introductions to potential clients.

The event will finish promptly at 2.00 pm, allowing you time to plan the rest of your working day and make afternoon appointments.

We would love to see you at the event; it will just cost you 2 hours of your time and the price of your lunch to come along, see what we do, and meet the other local business decision makers.

If you would like to give me your contact details, with an email address, I will send you some further information with a Personalised Booking Link. Otherwise you may wish to book online at www.business-network-lancaster.co.uk and go to the ‘Book Event’ page.
