Soft Shadows and Celestial Candle Light at Leighton 

Leighton Hall, near Carnforth, the home of the world famous Gillow furniture making family has an exciting tour for groups, which will bring a glimmer of light to the dark, winter evenings. 

The lady of the house, Suzie Gillow Reynolds or one of her enthusiastic team, guide groups of 25 or more around Leighton Hall by flickering candle light. Visitors will be able to discover the fascinating history of Leighton Hall and the secrets of the family who live there. This atmospheric evening ends with mulled wine and mince pies served in front of a roaring open fire in the magnificent Music Room. 

Leighton Hall is just 10 minutes from the M6, exit 35. The Hall has been open to the public for almost 60 years, but is still very much a lived in, family home. Every visitor is greeted at the impressive door way before being guided through the house & every room in the house from the imposing, panelled dining room to the modest, private chapel is used regularly by the Gillow Reynolds friends & family. 

Leighton is part of a living heritage here in Lancashire, and just one of many local attractions open all year round for groups.

Lots of people live in the area but have never ventured to Leighton before, so the candlelit tour is a really special way of inviting them into our home for the first time. Leighton is a gothic house and seeing it by a glimmering light, across long shadows is particularly atmospheric.  It’s such a different experience from a warm sunny afternoon!” 

Leighton Hall is open all year round for pre booked groups.  There’s plenty of parking, so there’s no need to bring a coach if visitors would rather bring their own cars. The candlelit tour including mulled wine and mince pies is just £14.50 per person & is available November – February, with only one tour each evening. (Other group packages are available from £6.50 per person).
