REACHING HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY

Richard Scurr, who works for Virgin Rail at Preston Station, decided that he wanted to go that bit farther to raise much needed funds for Lancaster charity Wolfwood Animal Rescue.

And he did! Instead of just climbing to the top of three highest UK peaks he did FOUR by including one in Ireland!

During 5th to 12th August he completed a sponsored climb of Scafell Pike 3209 feet (England), Snowdon 3560 feet (Wales), Ben Nevis 4409 feet (Scotland) and Carantouhill 3123 feet (Eire).

Not only is his achievement in completing the four peaks impressive but also was the amount of money that he raised – a sum in excess of £590.

Today, 7th September, Richard travelled to the Wolfwood Animal Sanctuary charity shop Bowerham Road Lancaster where he handed over a cheque to Stephen Wakelin of the charity – see pic.

After the efforts of climbing four peaks I’m sure Richard let Virgin Rail “take the strain” for the journeys between Preston and Lancaster.
