To celebrate 25 years of promenading in the park, The Dukes is staging an Open Day on Saturday, July 23.

A series of free events open to the general public will be held from noon until 4pm at the Moor Lane theatre in Lancaster.

Dukes directors past and present will talk about the challenges of outdoor promenading, Andy Whitfield and his Millennium Choir will perform music from the very first park show in 1987, and there will be a chance to meet the production and technical teams who’ve worked on the productions over the years.

A free drop-in ‘making and creating’ workshop for children will run all afternoon in The Dukes gallery which is displaying Park Shows, Past and Present an exhibition of paintings and drawings inspired by photographs from past productions.
