Coun June Ashworth, mayor of Lancaster, said: “I am delighted to be able to be part of this special day and would love to see all members of the Armed Forces family joining us to watch these special flags being hoisted on our town halls.

“We will fly these flags with pride and will take the time on 24 June to be grateful for everyone who has, is and will serve in our armed forces.”
