Grow a Mo – raise some dough!

CALLING ALL MEN! CancerCare is urging men to lay down their razors for the month of November to raise money for local cancer support.

Grow A Mo is a campaign run by local charity CancerCare to raise money for the cancer support services it provides in North Lancashire and South Lakeland.

The charity is asking men to start November 1^st with a clean shaven face - then over the month get sponsored to grow a moustache.

And they’re offering a fun pack of cut-out moustaches to try at home – including The Magnum PI, The Strong Man, and the Fu Manchu – as part of their registration pack.

Registration is free – just email fundraising@cancercare.org.uk or call fundraising on 01524 381320 for a pack.

A launch party – with music from the Groove Cutters – is planned at the Penny Street Bridge on November 1^st, and throughout October the pub will be encouraging its customers to start planning their moustaches.

At the end of the month, the moustachioed heroes will be invited to a Tash Bash, also at the Penny Street Bridge, where prizes will be handed out for the best (and worst!) tashes.

Four good reasons to support CancerCare's Grow a Mo this year:

• Every day, 25 people are diagnosed with cancer in our area.
• Over 25% of the people that use CancerCare’s services are male.
• CancerCare is a local charity supporting anyone affected by cancer in the North Lancs and South Lakes area - including families and carers.
• CancerCare offers a specialist support group for local people affected by prostate cancer.

There are three rules – men must start the month with a clean shaven face, moustaches must not be attached to beards or sideburns, and all sponsorship money raised must be received by CancerCare by 31^st January 2014.

CancerCare is now celebrating its 30^th year of being dedicated to the support of people whose lives are affected by cancer – patients, families and carers – in North Lancs and the South Lakes.
