Wolfwood do an amazing but difficult job. Stephen & team will make sure the dogs welfare is foremost & will only re-home them with the right owner. The shop is a treasure trove of excellent quality items all very reasonably priced.
The dedication & passion for animal welfare is second to none from this very friendly, family run charity & they deserve all the help they get,
I can't currently re-home a dog so love to help out in any other way I can.
If I ever win the lottery, they are first on the list to benefit!
Please support them however you can!!

I re-homed an american bulldog called Bubba from Wolfwood almost two years ago and he is an absolutely fabulous dog. Anyone who could offer a dog a lovely lifelong home should definately consider rehoming a dog from Wolfwood - the people involved are fantastic and work tirelessly, if you can't rehome a dog why not donate unwanted items to the charity shop to support this wonderful charity and help all the lovely animals in need of our help. x

Wolfwood is an amazing family run charity, devoted to their work and the rescued animals. The care and concern for the rescued goes above and beyond. It is totally about the welfare and happiness of the animals. The care is before, during and after adoption. Knowing always that Stephen is at the other end of the phone to help. The charity shop is one of the most honestly priced I've seen in a long time. The ladies that run the shop are lovely, helpful and friendly and always thank you for taking stuff in. The amazing thing that Wolfwood have done, which is unlike any other charity, is that they have managed to pull together the community, people that have adopted dogs, fundraisers, helpers, they are all part of an extended family now. You will never hear a wrong word said about Stephen and his family, his care. I'm proud to have a dog from him, to be part of that extended family. xx

Stephen and everyone else involved deserve medals for all their hard work. Stephen cares for all the varied the animals he takes in and ensures that they will be placed with the best family or person for that particular dog/animal by his professional expertise. The charity is always busy- staff serving and volunteers behind the scenes and public purchasing.

Wolfwood is the best thing that has happened to the stray dogs and wildlife in Lancaster and surrounding areas.

Steven and Amy are the most wonderful people and devote their live to the welfare of all dogs, horse and wild life that are brought to them.
We are lucky enough to have two lovely dogs we got from them over four years ago and I am always recommending them to any one looking for a dog.
I only wish there were more people like them as there are so many unfortunate animals that need people like Steven and Amy on their side to help them have a better life.

Wolfwood rescues abandoned and unwanted dogs as well as wildlife.
They care for each animal as if they are their own. Homes are found for the dogs, but they ensure that the right home is found for the right dog. It is a 24/7 organisation, and they do it voluntarily but with joy & happily.

If it were not for Wolfwood injured and displaced wildlife collected by the RSPCA in the Lancaster and Morecambe area would be put down as they have no facilites to deal with them.

At the same time all unwanted, stray and lost dogs in the area collected by the Lancaster City Council Dog Warden, would have to be put down at the end of the Council statutory seven day period as there is no other local facility prepared to take on the rehoming of them.

Add to that the fact that they are the permanent home of 7 horses and ponies that have been rescued, I think I am fair in saying that Wolfwood Animal Sanctuary is one of Lancaster's best kept secrets and needs to be 'discovered'.

Last year I took an orphaned baby seagull to wolfwood and I was immediately impressed by what I saw. The facilities are excellent for the wildlife and the staff really know what they are doing. I've been checking the website regularly as I'm starting to think about re-homing a dog, the website is always up to date and its always changing with new dogs appearing and lots of happy dogs that have been re-homed.

I'm always popping in to the Wolfwood Charity shop on Bowerham Road, there are loads of bargains to be found! The staff are chatty and friendly, we always have a gossip when I go in. Looking forward to my visit this coming week!

The whole team at Wolfwood are truly dedicated to caring for all of the animals in need of care. They really are experts. Everything from the baby birds to the horses and everything in between gets lovingly cared for. Wolfwood doesn't have huge resources but they don't let that hold them back, a lot of charities could do with taking a leaf out of wolfwoods book.
I wish them all the success in the world. Wolfwood definitely deserves it.

wolfwood is a fantastic charity - one of the few animal charities to give staffies a chance. Stephen and his team do a great job and work all year round and deserve to be recognised as the best of Lancaster! The shop is also excellent with friendly and helpful staff and a great turnaround of stock. All in all a brilliant charity!

We were looking for a dog to share a new life with Bonnie a young Rotty who we thought needed some more fun....apart from us, we went to Wolfwood.... and not only found the most handsome companion for Bonnie called Sonny (we have renamed him Rugby), but also the knowledge and advice we were given on how to build the dogs relationship by Stephen which has helped us enormously in making all our lives so much more complete. Stephen and his team are sensible in the approach to how the inital meetings are managed and how long new owners need to visit before a dog is allowed to be re-homed. I respect the attitude Stephen has in if you are really committed to re-homing a dog the number of visits are irrelevant, even from Wales.
Fanastic rescue centre and truely committed staff.

Its such a brilliant charity and they work so hard to achieve all the good they do!! They are particularly passionate about rehoming staffies and trying to get across how brilliant the breed actually is. If it wasnt for wolfwood there would be so many homeless sad dogs in lancaster.

I love Wolfwood because they care! Throughout the year they work so hard taking in injured hedgehogs, birds and other wildlife, nurturing them back to good health for re-release. Their dog re-homing service is so successful because they aim to match prospective new owners to a dog's individual needs. Great work Wolfwood!
