Wyre Forest CAB launches online services

Wyre Forest residents looking for advice on anything from benefits to employment can now use Facebook, e-mail and even Twitter following the launch of a range of online services by Wyre Forest Citizens Advice Bureau.

A new Facebook site, called Wyre Forest Citizens Advice Bureau, was formally launched on 21 February [or whenever] with the help of staff and residents from St Basils, which provides accommodation for vulnerable people aged between 16 and 25, who are suffering a housing crisis. There is also a redesigned website, www.wyreforestcab.org.uk.

Kate Bennett, manager of the Wyre Forest CAB service, said: ‘We are keen to support more young people and those who find it difficult to access bureau-based services, perhaps because they work full-time or are housebound.

‘Now that Facebook and e-mail are an integral part of day-to-day communication, it seemed a good way for us to reach out to more people who are grappling with problems but do not know where to get help.’
Both the website and the Facebook page have an e-mail link for anyone wishing to contact CAB for advice, or the bureau can be e-mailed directly at wfcabfb@gmail.com.

One of the bureau’s volunteers also regularly tweets on national issues which affect all our lives. Follow him on Wyre Forest http://twitter.com/#!/CABwyre

The bureau continues to offer face-to-face appointments at its offices in Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley as well as a telephone advice service on 08444 111 303.
