Angry villagers near Stourport and Kidderminster are bracing themselves to fight controversial plans to site a massive incinerator and recycling plant near their homes. Mercia Waste is searching for a suitable location for a plant to help cope with Worcestershire's ever-growing mountain of household waste.
Parish councillors in Hartlebury have been left fuming after the village was named among six locations being studied as a possible site for the plant.
A campaign has already been launched to oppose the incinerator being built in the village.
