Lovely setting, lovely food and a good level of service every other time I've been. This time, however, it fell short. I had given my guest an 80th birthday present which included a Thornton's mini birthday cake. My guest decided on the spur of the moment that she'd like to open the cake, so that we could join her in enjoying it. The waitress told us she wasn't able to serve it and that we weren't allowed to eat it, in case we became sick and blamed it on them! It was embarrassing and I said we'd risk it, to then be told she'd get a 'b-llocking!
Most other establishments would not only have offered the lady a knife and plate, I'm sure they'd have also wished her a happy birthday! C'mon Dovecote, you can do better.

At first, I wasn't impressed with the vegan options, I don't think the menu does the food justice. I went with the hummus and roasted pepper sandwich, sounded too simplistic and not adventurous enough, something I could easily make at home. But it was delicious. The brown bread was thick and lushous.
The menu says that the sandwiches are served with salad and potato salad, so I made an enquiry as to whether they provided a vegan potato salad. I was super pleased when they came back out and said they could make some up, and when I asked if I could have jalapeños added in the sandwich, although each time the person serving us was resistant, the chef added it.
It is a little pricey for what you get food wise, but the service from the kitchen was brilliant.
Would highly recommend eating there. The food is delicious.

Based in the heart of Kettering town but yet quiet comes with classy yet warm surroundings. Extremely loved my stay here. Remember was during Covid-19 and was posted to a local hospital around but the chef ensured i had warm dinner every after my LD at work. Excellent staff.

We visited this beautiful hotel at the weekend and what a wonderful time we had. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite as we were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and the room was extremely spacious with a lounge and separate bedroom. We used the spa which was great, we do love a spa and have visited a few and so this is an honest review in comparison to others! The steam room, sauna and hot tub were as expected and we enjoyed them! The pool was a little on the chilly side, not so much if you want to use it to swim laps, you'll soon warm up! And nice and refreshing after using the sauna etc but if you want to have a gentle swim then it is a little chilly for our liking! That didn't take away from the experience though. There are a few beds and seating in the area but would be nice to have a few more comfy seats when it's busy. That said, it didn't take long for us to be able to move from a bench to a comfier seat and it was never really too busy. A nice bonus that you can also order food and drinks in the spa.
We spent some time in the bar which was a nice atmosphere and we ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was lovely and again a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was fantastic, nothing on a buffet and all served to the table so this was a nice touch. It seemed busy but extremely efficient at breakfast.
The hotel itself is beautiful, yes it's on a business park but you are immersed in a completely different environment the minute you step inside! There is an area out the back with gardens and seating, lovely to sit out and have a drink in the sunshine. All in all we had a fantastic stay and will most definitely return!
