Potli is a new and exciting Indian restaurant in Hammersmith.
The menu is comprised of specialty dishes from all over India. The pappadoms are unique as they represent various regions of India, and the home made chutneys are exceptional.
All the dishes are executed with care and finesse, with special attention to the spices. The wine list is varied and well priced.
A warm welcome, attentive service, and delicious food make for a pleasant dining experience.

This restaurant just opened last week. My wife and I went there on its first Friday evening. When we arrived, about 7:15 PM, the restaurant was empty. The owner greeted us very warmly and told us how he and his business partner, the chef, had planned the restaurant together and how they will be displaying the basement kitchen to their customers. They've obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing the place, bringing in lights and artwork from India. The food exceeded our expectations. They had some dishes not usually found on high street Indian restaurant menus. For example, we had a spicy puffed rice with homemade chutneys as an appetizer. It was delicious. The prawns tasted fresh, not thawed. We had the appetizer, three main courses with rice, two glasses of wine, and two beers. The price was £54 including service. Very good value, in our opinion. By the time we left, about 8:45, the restaurant was completely full.
For us, living within a few minutes' walk, Potli is a welcome addition to this strip of King Street. If they maintain the standards we experienced, they'll do very well and, hopefully, increase competition in the area.
