From guerrillas to cheeky monkeys to pink pigeons. A varied good day out.

All very good, lovely and quiet, I'm still not convinced there are animals in all of the enclosures... But it was a warm day. Maybe they were hiding. Jersey zoo is the 1st place recommended on a trip to the channel islands. It maintains its reputation very well.

Whilst the sentiment of the zoo is wonderful, when I visited recently I felt the place was unkempt and run down. The outsides of animal enclosures looked untidy and grubby. The bat and sloth houses were closed. What animals there were, either slept or looked uninterested. Pens were empty. There weren't even many people there. The whole place is lacklustre. Some species weren't even endangered. One bird was on its own in a big aviary. I came away feeling disappointed. It could all do with a big spruce up. It certainly doesn't feel like the renowned world affair it is known for. It is possible they have realised it is not big enough to carry forth its name for this day and age.

Love this place, not so big you can't see the animals, not so small you worry about the space....just right. Not overcrowded, and nice to see what your money is being spent on. New animals due in 2026, so absolutely worth a visit or 2. Highly recommend.
