A wonderful zoo, specialising in protecting species. I particularly love the gorillas, orangutans and meerkats. We always have to remind our daughter that there are none of the usual zebra, giraffe etc at this zoo but she loves it. The cafes are great, there are short talks throughout the day at various enclosures and all the animals live in great environments and seem very content.

This is an excellent wildlife park that emphasises the survival challenges for their many endangered species and clearly the organisation does a lot around the world.

We had a long and fascinating chat with a student who's studying the aye-aye. We feel that Durrell could do more to explain that it takes 10 minutes for human eyes to adjust to the low lighting. We saw no signage outside the various aye-aye enclosures to encourage visitors that it's worth persevering.

Fabulous place!
