Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Good service and interesting menu, we go as often as we can afford. Only downside here is the lack of view, but don't let that put you off.

5 of us dined here midweek. Only 2 choices on the specials board. Set menu sounded good so we all went with that in varying choices. Starters presented well but size (small) and taste was a let down. Main course again looked good but mine was gone in less than 5 minutes the portion was so small and lacked taste. Cannot even remember what was under my salmon. No atmosphere here although there were a few people dining. Little things that wouldnt normally bother us, rock hard butter definately from a freezer and little bread just added to the fact that this whole experiencce was a let down.

Four of us ate here during our stay in Jersey and we all had a lovely meal. We all ate different items off the menu and all really enjoyed everything. The service was efficient and staff were friendly and helpful. The range of starters and main courses was extensive and offered a wide range of items. In my personal opinion the range of desserts was a little more limited but this is probably down to my taste.
If you want to eat delicious good value food in comfortable surroundings then look no further!

The set menu makes for a great value meal without any compromise on food quality or presentation. The meringue sweet is particularly to be recommended if you are fed up with the dry powdery things which are often served up.

What a fantastic lunch we had - even the in-laws were happy and they're fairly hard to please!
One of our party is visually-impaired and likes a restaurant with good natural light, we got it. The kids don't want deep-fried nuggets and chips - they could order most things of the menu in smaller portions.I want something I couldn't cook better myself at home - I certainly couldn't match this chef. My husband wanted a happy family lunch - he got that too!

I visited this restaurant twice last Christmas and once this and have been impressed by the value for money and the tasty fresh food. The set menu is excellent value and was full of dishes I would have been happy to eat. A must have is the fantastic fishcake with noodles - delicious! Staff are friendly and there is free parking on site (although it can be tricky to get into/out of!

With a good location near Gorey Village, the Bass & Lobster is popular for good quality 'gastro-pub' type food. Never been disappointed.

Went for a meal with friends whilst visiting Jersey. The three course fixed price menu is £17 and well worth it. Really good food and excellent service.

We have eaten here a couple of times before; once for dinner soon after it opened and another time for lunch. Both were very good experiences with the quality of the cooking being particularly noteworthy. Most recently we went for dinner and managed to get a table on Saturday night, although only just, despite booking no later than Wednesday – it is obviously popular and to be fair I am not surprised at that.
There was no tennerfest or other fixed menu available that night so it was a la carte only. It is not what I would describe as inexpensive, with most mains being at £20+. Two of us had aperitifs, starters and mains, a bottle of wine and tea/coffee for £100 (not including a tip). Similar prices to Mark Jordan on the Beach and the Oyster Box which are favourites of ours.
All in all the food was excellent – seasonal dishes and ingredients very well cooked and a nice variety presented on the menu/daily specials. The chef and his brigade are clearly very talented and imagination has been expended in coming up with a really good menu.
The service was less praise-worthy. It was certainly cheerful and competent enough, but it took far too long for food to come out of the kitchen. I had to chase-up our main course which did not arrive until fully an hour and a quarter after we had sat down (with the starter intervening of course). I did notice at one stage as we waited that amongst the c.30 people in the main room at 8.30pm on Saturday night only two people had any food in front of them. The rest were either waiting for their dishes to be cleared or simply had nothing there.
Maybe it was just a hitch in the kitchen. Certainly, it wouldn’t stop me going back although given the competition in Jersey at this price-level it will be a few more meals down the line before I do return.
One tip - try to ensure that you are in the main room – the small annexe is a little lacking in atmosphere.

We had a great meal in this restaurant in Gorey. Nice location, old looking building but very modern feel inside. Not very expensive but expect the strangest price list....£ 10.42 for this, £ 7.78 for that which I found really funny...I remember Jersey Royals were £ 3.06....why not £ 3.00...Just me being picky....You did a good job guys...!

Good standard of food and the set menu was good value. I especially enjoyed the lobster a wonderful treat. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the staff efficient. We hadn't booked but they managed to accommodate us although obviously booking would avoid disappointment.

We took my very aged parents to the Bass and Lobster and had a fantastic evening.
The food was superb, my mother and I both had the guinea fowl special with fois gras which was delicious but the other diners were equally happy with their choices. The table d'hote menu was great value but we thought prices overall were very fair.
Service was great and the ambience was perfect for the occasion.

We chose the Bass and Lobster as we had heard it was 'the' place to visit for the finest fish and seafood on the island and we were not disappointed!! It was our wedding anniversary and the food, service and ambience far exceeded our expectations. The Tempura prawns and calamari just melted in our mouths and the sea bass with risotto was exceptional. My husbands steak was cooked to perfection and the deserts were heavenly! We would recommend this as a 'must visit' if you are over in Jersey - in fact we loved it so much we ended up eating there 3 nights of our weeks stay!!

Had been recommended to try this amazing restaurant and we were certainly not disappointed. The decor was beautiful with attention to fine detail clearly thought through. We were immediately greeted by friendly and efficient staff and made to feel very welcome. We were a large party which included children and all our diverse needs were catered for. The food was absolutely delicious and watching Roger the owner/head chef at work with his team in the open kitchen was an education. Would recommend this superb restaurant to anyone who is looking for wonderful food, excellent service and a superb dining experience.

This is a very popular restaurant so much so after trying to get in on spec we booked for the next evening to be able to eat there. The food was very well presented and cooked, the staff attentive and helpful. I also felt that it was the most reasonably good quality priced restaurant I ate at in a week on the island.
Any downsides? The protions are not great, my husband in particular was disappointed with his main course small fillet of fish. It is noisy when full even though they have tried to overcome it with the decor. The acid test for me - would I go back, yes because the quality is there.

Went here as there was a sign outside with a 2 courses for £12.75 deal on, I had the salmon starter and chicken main and my partner had the fish cakes and then pollock tempura and chips. I thought the food was very tasty and great value for the price. I'd class this restaurant like a very good quality pub grub kind of place, would recommend for a quick meal or a family dinner. Not so much for romance. Total price with a glass of wine each and bottle of sparkling water was only £30
