Volunteers are being sought to help bring the history of Hereford Cathedral to life for the One Day To Do It! challenge next month.

On November 19th, people will join together to take part in drama, film-making, music, costume, puppetry and behind-the-scenes work to help tell the untold stories of Cathedral Close.

The activities are free for families, friends, community groups, historians and drama groups to get involved and will culminate in a performance of Civil War Siege 'Royalists rumble the Roundheads' at 2pm at Hereford Cathedral. The production will be performed by volunteers alongside a group of disabled actors from Affinity Trust's SCORE project in Hereford.

Rosie Wooderson, Opportunities Manager at SCORE, said: "Affinity Trust members at SCORE are really looking forward to spending the day collaborating with the Cathedral Close project on a 'play in a day'. Developing a piece from scratch in one day, and performing it to family, friends and members of the public promises to be a really exciting experience!"

The event has been organised by Puppet Tree Community Arts and funded through Hereford Cathedral's Heritage Lottery. Workshops are been held in towns and villages all over the Hereford diocese and are led by experienced drama and video artists.
