After 7 years in Hereford I have never been to The Cock of Tupsley, having driven passed it a million times!
We visited by chance over the Easter break as we were looking for some good old pub food!
Upon arriving and not having a table booked, we were greeted by the serving team and welcomed in, told of a 20 minute wait for a table and invited into a relaxed an friendly bar area.
After about 10 minutes we where taken to our table and introduced to our waitress who then offered to get some more drinks if we wanted while we looked over the menu’s.
Whilst looking at the menu we were amazed with the variety and selection of food on offer from the more traditional fish and chips, and pies to Vietnamese vegetarian curry’s (amongst others) on the specials bored and even a Gluten free menu online!
We ordered the Chicken and Gammon Pie and the Boston Bean Tart with sides. When the food arrived we were shocked (but happy) to see the massive portions sizes we received. Both meals were filling and full of flavour to our delight.
We were quiet pleased to see a good variety of Gluten Free and also vegetarians to, as a lot of other places seem to serve quite similar and samey food for these dietary needs. The Cock of Tupsley has a brilliant two main courses for the price of one which was a real added bonus.
Our waiting staff were polite, helpful and attentive throughout the meal and the restaurant area was well decorated warm and inviting.
All in all if you are looking for somewhere different to eat why not give the Cock of Tupsley a go?
