Summer in Herefordshire

We have had a busy few weeks.  My parents and sister came to visit us from Scotland and it was great to get a chance to do some touristy things around the county and show off Herefordshire.  The weather was great so it all looked at its best.

We went to Symonds Yat - one of our favourite places.  The view from the Rock was amazing, although we did not manage to see the Peregrine Falcons.  The adults have not managed to raise any chicks this year- which is a pity - as it is a wonderful sight when you can see the whole family soaring and learning how to feed themselves.  We then carried on down to one of the pubs by the river to enjoy some lunch - a very civilised occupation indeed.

On one of the days we went to Westons Cider - another favourite.  We enjoyed a cider tasting and went away with a few crates of cider to enjoy in the garden over the summer.

At the weekend we had a great afternoon watching Brockhampton Cricket team in what must be one of the most beautiful cricket grounds (I speak from great experience - having only every visited one!), but it is lovely and if you haven't been it is definitely a lovely way to spend a summer's afternoon - watching cricket and having a nice glass of beer - and the team won too!
