Independent retailers in Ross on Wye have reason to celebrate after the town was ranked 5th in the UK in a mystery shopping exercise designed to test the town’s overall shopping experience.
Top of the shops was Ross Cookshop on High Street – with a score of 99% which was brilliant. Peter Manning, the owner of Ross Cookshop is absolutely delighted with this fabulous score and is very proud of his shop and team of staff.
Throughout October and November, independent shops in Ross on Wye were secretly visited and assessed by trained market research professionals.
After two visits to each of the town’s 32 independent shops, the town’s overall score was rated at 88.4%, placing it firmly in the top ten of the 71 towns which have been assessed – higher than Cheltenham and Gloucester!
Individual shops also performed very well with 29 of the 32 shops scoring above the benchmark score of 80%.
