Brian popped out to see Brummie Stokes at the Taste for Adventure Centre yesterday, as we are planning to hold our next Evening with The Best of Hereford there in September.
There was some great news that Brummie wanted to share – his wife Lynn has been honoured with an MBE. We were so excited about this great piece of well deserved news that we had to share it with you.
Lynn was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list.
Lynn helped set up the Centre with Brummie in 1991 and has been helping to run it since then. She received her award in recognition of the work she does with the community and in particular her work with the over 60’s locally. She provides hot lunches throughout the winter and various outings during the year.
Lynn said she was shocked to receive the honour – but we are not, as we think both she and Brummie do a terrific job out there at the Taste of Adventure Centre.
