The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust is a charity based in Warwick and they are offering men, in Herefordshire, over 40 the opportunity to have a free test for prostate cancer.

This is very simple - a blood test by a fully qualified phlebotomist is taken and samples will be analysed at Droitwich Spa Hospital.

Each man will receive the results and advice by letter.

The tests will be carried out at Hereford Welsh Social Club on Hinton Road, Hereford on Saturday 22nd August from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.  There is no need to book an appointment but it would help if you would email your intention of coming along to joannutland@hotmail.co.uk to give some idea of the numbers.  Testing is free, although donations to the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust are welcome.

The trust says 8,662 men have so far been tested around the country - 530 have been advised to see their general practitioner for further testing and of those 180 have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

This seems like a test definitely worth having.
