Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival 2009
26th October 2009

Brian and I attended the Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival on Sunday and had a great time sampling local food and drink.  We tasted some locally produced sausages which were delicious and we will enjoy having these for breakfast for the next few weekends.   We also bought some lovely smoked garlic, which had our mouths watering all the way home in the car.  Maybe add that to some mash to have along with our sausages!!!!

There were a huge variety of exhibitors  from Trumpers Tea to Orgasmic Cider! from chocolate to cheese and rare breed meats.  There were loads of ideas for Christmas Presents.  Loads of things to buy that hadn't travelled thousands of miles.

There was a fabulous display of apples of all varieties in one of the halls, this was very impressive.  The beekeeping association also had a competition for the many products that could be made from honey and beeswax.

The Food on the Go section was equally impressive, there were two absolutely massive cooking pots on the go, one with paella and one with a sausage concoction.  Take a look at the picture below - we decided to go for the paella - not very local buy hey!  We had a glass of Wye Valley Brewery Beer to go with it.

The date for next year is already in the diary - 23rd and 24th October.  So if your business was not there this year, why not consider going along next year.

We are looking forward to hearing about the Winners of the Awards for this year and will post them soon.
