I have now had two pairs of glasses from Eyemasters, and I have been highly impressed by both the service and the quality of the products. My needs were slightly unconventional, one being a clear pair of specs for cycling and general eye protection, and the other special sunglasses for driving. In both cases my requests were taken seriously and full consideration and proper advice was given to me about what I would need to get the best results and which frames would suit me most. Both glasses have been excellent. Richard Smith of Eyemasters gives the best service one could hope for, with a friendly demeanour and a professional approach that properly takes into account the individual needs of the customer. His obvious experience and understanding really shows and I would definitely use Eyemasters again in future.

Just got back from a club archery competition and did alright so paying for Jane’s glasses was not a problem! I am so glad you are able to sort her out. I am still amazed by the quality of my lenses. I have never had is so good so your talent a greatly appreciated.

I have bought several pairs of glasses from Richard, sometimes for different purposes, sometimes as an accessory; on each occasion Richard has thought about my reason for buying them and the way they will be used. He has a fabulous selection frames with a range of prices and also is up to date on the technology surrounding glasses; this has lead me buy glasses that filter out glaring headlights to sunglasses that change even behind glass when I'm driving. He has a real passion for his work and he wants you to think of glasses as a bit more than helping you see. I have no hesitation in recommending Eye masters as the must place to buy your glasses.

Richard from Eyemasters is fantastic! I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses and Richard suggested some options. I went with a yellow pair of special polarised lenses especially good for driving in sunshine and bright lights. Well, I tried them today and my vision was unimpeded by the bright sunshine. I highly recommend Eyemasters for the specialist knowledge, reasonable prices and superb service. Thank you Richard.

Richard gives a very professional and personalised service at a great price. He has a fantastic selection of frames and seems to have all the time in the world to help and advise you with your choice of frames and lenses. Aftercare is great too. He sold me a second pair with lenses specially designed for working at the computer, which are fantastic. No more neck strain from moving my head around all the time to get into focus. I won't be going anywhere else for my next pair of glasses.

A very personal service provided by EYEMASTERS. Needed a pair of varifocal lenses. I was explained fully what to expect and how they work. It was great advice as it did take a few days to get used to them. My 22 year old daughter, new school teacher, also purchased a pair of specs and again the time that was given to her and the glasses she ended up getting were great. I highly recommend EYEMASTERS whatever your spec requirements are. Simply the best.

Charming personalised service. Apart from the wonderful range of frames on offer, attention to detail was the best I have ever experienced resulting in a product with which I am supremely happy. I have been wearing glasses for about 8 years now and have struggled with the whole concept anyway, being irritated that they 'get in the way' but I am actually enjoying wearing them now which is a fantastic result. The price was far less than I have paid elsewhere and believe me the product is of a very high quality. I shall not be going anywhere else. Thank you Richard!

Recently had an eye test, new glasses required! was quoted nearly £400 for new varifocal lenses with all the coatings for driving etc. fitted into my frames! I shopped around, but all similar price! Eventually went to EYEMASTERS in Pett Village and saw Richard Smith, his consultation on supplying new lenses to my prescription went very well, treats you with care and understanding, as a valued customer! eventually fitted me with new glasses, titanium frames and new varifocal lenses for £240

What a top company Richard sorted my Oakley sunglasses with prescription lenses i have had these glasses for over 20 years Oakleys X Metals very rare these days and i love them , Richard sorted these super quick and i am over the moon

I am really very pleased with the service and product I have from Eyemasters. Richard is very creative and can therefore offer solutions which the High Street cannot offer. Since my prescription had not changed from two years ago I had the opportunity to explore some additional options. I had my old, well loved frames from 10 years ago fitted with new lenses as computer/readers. They are the same prescription as my recent readers but they are clearer - the lenses are superior quality.
I also wanted some varifocal sunglasses - especially for driving. Richard suggested I had a graduated lense so that reading a map or a menu outside meant that I didn't have to remove them - great idea! They are still fantastic for protection despite the graduation. I chose a frame from the Struktur range made in France. They are beautifully made and I love them.
I also had a pair of glasses with yellow tinted lenses for driving at night. They reduce the glare from oncoming headlights and really help with driving tiredness. They also make a grey day brighter which increases visibility.
Richard is passionate about what he does and incredibly experienced in eye wear across the globe - just ask him how many countries he has worked in. The range of products covers classic to fashionable. He really takes time to get the right eye wear for you and, most of all - he cares. Great customer service is paramount to him and it comes through in everything he does. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

I have had lots of people recommend Richard at Eyemasters to me. As my prescription now means that I require varifocals, I wanted to be sure I was getting quality and value, combined with good service. Getting your glasses from Richard is an entirely different experience to the High Street. It is far more relaxed and not nearly so daunting! I've just picked up my new specs and have to say that I'm very pleased with the whole experience from beginning to end.

I can't praise Richard Smith highly enough. For many years I had been told by high street opticians that because my eyesight was bad, even with thinned lenses, I needed to wear glasses with small, shallow frames to avoid that very unlovely beer bottle effect that no spectacle wearer wants. When I told Richard this he assured me I could have any size frame I wanted; he could deal with the lens thickness by being more precise and professional in his dispensing. End result? I had a very happy time choosing frames in the size I wanted, that suited my face. Richard stocks unusual frames and I chose 2 pairs of fabulous frames from a French supplier -1 pair in shocking pink and another in smoky grey - that were fitted with varifocal lenses. Richard's studio is like an Aladdin's cave of stylish frames, so having bought these I also ordered a pair of single lens glasses to wear at my computer that have really helped, given the amount of time I spend staring at a computer screen. Richard's studio should be a destination of choice for anyone in East Sussex or Kent looking for first class optical care, expert professional advice and fabulous frames.
