Buying your specs from Eyemasters is quite simply an enjoyable experience. Being of an age where I wear glasses permanently it's undoubtedly important that eyewear feels comfortable as well as looking good, and that I can see clearly! My recent experience of the high street providers is that they'll pretty much leave you to browse and make your own choices. This isn't the best option... Richard will take time - as much as you need - to advise on the best specs taking into consideration stuff like hair & eye colour, face shape & so on... Am delighted with my new specs - they're different and yet I've had numerous complements in just a few short days.

Excellent range of glasses, very knowledgeable staff who enabled me to enjoy varifocals for the very first time, having tried before many times. Richard chose an excellent pair of glasses for me from an extensive range and I love them.
After meeting and hearing Richard talk about his business, it was clear that he knows his stuff. I was after a robust but stylish set of glasses for work on my construction sites. We set up a meet at his studio in Pett, all I had to bring was my prescription. We discussed options, colour and styling at a relaxed pace, a truly new experience for me. I placed an order which was ready to collect in no time. Eyemasters offer an amazing service, a world away from high-street chains who seem to just want to take your money. Richard is a consummate professional who knows an awful lot about eyes, glasses and the way the two should fit together! Anyone looking for replacement specs or lenses should make the journey to his well equipped office. No pressure, honest opinion and a wealth of knowledge, along with very competitive pricing is a winner in my book. I'm a convert. Won't go anywhere else, even if I do live the other side of the country...
I recently visited Richard after a meeting him at a social event. The whole experience of visiting Eyemasters for new glasses was entirely enjoyable. The whole process was very laid back and and there was an extensive range of frames to choose from with Richard suggesting the best frames suited to me. I would highly recommend Richard to anyone who is looking for new glasses and have already done so.

I met Richard Smith fairly recently when I needed to change my glasses.
Up until now I have ‘played it safe’ and bought rimless glasses as I felt anything else may not suit me and I didn’t want ghastly glasses.
I was go pleased to find someone who put me at my ease immediately, and most of all explained many a thing about glasses I never knew before ie. How a vary-focal lens works. I was able to try on frame styles I would have never been brave enough to have tried before, eventually choosing a frame I feel confident and proud to wear.

Dealing with this company is a whole new experience for us who need glasses....for a start it's fun....secondly the company is reliable and honest and thirdly the back up when things go wrong is second to none. All you have to do is make an appointment, go along and with your prescription and get measured up and choose from a huge selection of frames then that's it. Anything that's not right or breaks just takes a phone call to sort out. Can't recommend the service highly enough.
My wife and I took our prescriptions to Eyemasters, where we met Richard who immediately made us feel at ease with his personal relaxed approach which was both informative and enlightening and most refreshing given the high street alternatives. My wife needed to replace lenses in a favourite pair of designer frames and I opted for a funky pair from the French Strukture range of hand made frames. Richard has the best collection of spectacle frames I've come across, with such a range of shapes and colours, The three pairs I've had (so far!) elicit lots of admiring comments and I couldn't go back to the High Street having seen what's available.

I had an eye test and took my prescription to Eyemasters who made me my favourite pair of glasses to date. What I really like is that the experience was totally different to the my previous (numerous) high-street interactions. Richard clearly has a wealth of experience in his field and is able to deliver and expert service without leaving you feeling that you are being 'processed'. His premises is 15 minutes out of town and there was no time-pressure which is very refreshing and unique. I've recommended 2 family members to Richard and I can't imagine wanting to go back to the old way in the future. Thoroughly recommend Eyemasters.
