Some businesses are going all out in October supporting Breast Cancer Care such as corporate Pink Ribbon Breakfasts and many beauty brands are supporting with the little pink ribbon attached to their signature best-selling products.

Visitors to Springfields Outlet Shopping in Spalding will be getting that 'Pink Fridays Feeling'  when staff at the Playtex Wonderbra store invite people to help mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October.

Staff will be donning outrageous pink clothing - including feathers boas and a tutu - throughout the month to help raise money for Breast Cancer Care, a charity that wants every person affected by breast cancer to get the best possible treatment, information and support.

Friday 2 October was French Fancies Friday, where plenty of naughty pink cakes were served up to customers in return for a donation.

On Friday 9 October, representatives from Breast Cancer Care will be in store. They will be providing advice to women on how to examine themselves and to help them understand what the signs of potential breast cancer can be. The month is rounded off on Friday 30 October with face painting for children, with money raised going to Breast Cancer Care.

Throughout the month, there will be a raffle to win some fabulous pink prizes, including lingerie from Playtex Wonderbra, as well as a 'guess the name of the lady' game. For children there will be a 'pin the tale on the pink piggy' game with pink sweets as prizes, plus a 'guess the number of sweets in the jar' competition.

Breast Cancer Care is a charity that supports anyone affected by breast cancer. It brings people together, provides information and support, and campaigns for improved standards of care. It uses its understanding of people's experiences of breast cancer and its clinical expertise in everything it does. Visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk or call the free helpline on 0808 800 6000.

Beverley Marshall, Assistant Manager at Playtex Wonderbra, said: "Every eleven minutes someone is diagnosed with breast cancer - that's 884 people every week. Everyone knows someone who has had a breast cancer diagnosis and is aware of the emotional impact it can have.

"We are really looking forward to the month, raising money for charity and raising awareness of the signs people need to look out for. Money raised by our activities goes directly to a very important cause.

"Playtex Wonderbra has been main sponsor of the awareness month for more than 10 years and we are very passionate about doing all we can to get involved and raise money."

Staff at the store are also happy to send out information to people interested in finding out more about breast cancer. For information leaflets or to find out more about the week please call Beverley on 01775 722043.

Most of us have been affected one way or another; we have a sister, a friend, a mum or know a husband whose life has been derailed by breast cancer - so get yourselves across to Springfield Outlet Shopping if you can and have a  fun day out whilst supporting a very worthwhile cause. This is a great way to get involved.
