Picturesports and my passion for motorsports

Sorting my way through my collection of motorsport images for a book is a lot harder than I thought. In one 3 year period for example (it was an "intense" Period) I've kept close to 13,000 images – heaven knows how many I took. Going through them, I can see why I kept each shot, essentially because there was nothing wrong with it – but was it actually worth keeping over the other 10+ I had of the same driver from that weekend … who knows.

The rule in general seems to be (for each car) – car going left, car going right, front three quarters and then add in chequered flag, podium and team shot depending on the result.

Assume 15 entrants to a race, 6 races on the programme and a minimum of 3 shots per car and that totals out to 270 shots for a weekend – call it 300 photographs after adding in some atmosphere and key things that happened. It is amazing how many images that comes to if as a photographer you are covering the event rather than working for a specific series, team or sponsor.

There are two main collections going in to the book. The NZ one is HERE and the UK one which is still being added to is HERE. Feed back is always a gift, so if any of the images leap of the screen at you and demand they are included, feel free to say so.
