Chelsea first joined the college on the LinxFE course followed by joining the Life Skills course and finally the Transitions Xtra course this September. As part of the course Chelsea works in the college’s enterprise shop Little Gems where she enjoys serving customers, ordering stock, helping with stock take, labelling and ticketing items, displays as well as using till and card machine.
Chelsea was awarded ‘Sales Person of the Year’ due to her commitment, she often stays behind after she should have finished and comes in to help on her days off, her people skills, dedication and promotion of the shop and CaFE.com. Chelsea has also helped out at two open evenings and at a craft event in the George Shopping Centre in town recently.
Helen Bowers, Little Gems Manager said ‘Chelsea has worked in Little Gems as part of her work experience in First Level Learning. She has developed many skills since she started working in the shop, including; numeracy, literacy, communication and interpersonal. She is always keen to help outside her normal College hours and regularly attends external events promoting Little Gems. Her outgoing personality always attracts customers and she is an asset to the shop. We hope that all the experience she has gained will set her in good stead to gain employment in the future and we are very happy to award her with 'Sales Person of the Year.'
Chelsea is also involved in many clubs including the Gateway Club, Salvation Army and Drama club.
