Abbeydale Sports and Community Centre is one of the leading community centres in Gloucestershire offering a superb array of facilities which are available for booking by user groups and individuals.

The Abbeydale Community Association started life in 1978 as the Heron Park Community Association with a dream of either building a community centre or acquiring a site on which one could be built.  At this time the names Abbeydale and Abbeymead had not been thought of.  In those early days the Association benefited from the great energy and efforts of its founders Graham Marsh, Roger Lindsey, Mike Richardson and Mike Teesdale.

objectives of the Association are:-

To promote the benefit of the people of Abbeydale and the neighbouring area without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religous or other opinion by associating together with the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and leisure time occupation by improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

To establish a community centre and to maintain and manage the same in furtherance of these objects.

To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
