Gloucester City Council
The Guildhall ...

The premiere venue for comedy,
music, theatre and film.

There are very few theatres and concert halls quite like this one;  managed by Gloucester City Council – The Guildhall is the ultimate local resource.

Run by Gloucester City Council - The Guildhall is one of Gloucester’s liveliest arts venues, entertaining a quarter of a million people every year. They’re drawn by the eclectic mix of live music, comedy and theatre; by the exhibits and wide ranging workshops. They’re drawn by their love of participative arts and dance; by their appreciation of contemporary theatre and films (art house and blockbuster alike.) In short, they’re drawn by top quality art and entertainment.

Once the home of Gloucester City Council – The Guildhall is now a versatile home to the arts in Gloucester; it’s quite unique. Combing the facilities of theatres and concert halls, cinema and dance floor; together with meeting rooms for hire and a café bar to boot; The Guildhall belies its modest façade on Eastgate Street, Gloucester. Step inside and see for yourself; there’s just so much to discover beyond the box office…

  • Sumptuous oak panelled cinema, showing art house, box office blockbuster, contemporary and classic films; quality is the only criterion
  • Guildhall theatre and dance floor - once the civic ballroom, the dance floor is as brilliantly sprung as ever -  just try to keep your feet still
  • Real ‘live’ music – all tastes catered for; all musical genres encouraged
  • Regular comedy and music nights featuring award winning national stars and fresh local talent

Above all, this is a venue that Gloucester can be proud of. Managed by Gloucester City Council – The Guildhall fulfils a significant part of the Council’s commitment to supporting local theatres and concert halls; and to promoting local arts and entertainment.

Theatres and concert halls can rarely offer such a wide ranging programme of arts and attractions; but there are very few venues quite like the Guildhall!
