On Saturday 31st May, the club is opening its doors to anyone who might be interested in the sport but does not know where to start. The day includes sailing taster sessions for all the family, a live band, BBQ, activities and lots of fun.

Commodore of Warsash Sailing Club, Roger Cerrato explains:

“Sailing is more than a sport; it is a way of life that builds lifelong skills. From physical fitness to enhanced concentration and problem-solving, the benefits of yacht and dinghy sailing are enormous for adults and children.

“At Warsash, our Youth Programme has helped hundreds of young sailors become confident, resilient individuals, many of whom have gone on to race nationally and internationally or build successful careers within the maritime industry. It’s clear the skills developed through sailing benefit our young sailors in whatever career they pursue.

“We also wish to help adults who may like the idea of sailing but don’t know where to start. At this club there are plenty of opportunities to learn and get involved. Whether you're interested in racing, leisurely cruising, or just enjoying time on or near the water, we will get you involved. We are a volunteer-led club so there are opportunities for everyone including those that are purely land-based.”
