Epsom & Ewell Foodbank Friday Foods – the items the Foodbank are short of this week @EpsomFoodbank

When you do your shopping this week please keep in mind the Foodbank – helping people in times of crisis

The Foodbank provides local people with necessities, not luxuries. It allows people to collect the basic necessities they need to live.

This week 31st May the following items are needed:

We are currently feeding more people than ever, a trend which we hope does not continue for obvious reasons.

This increase does mean that we are, and have been for a while, handing out more food than we are receiving. Whilst we have good stocks of the basics - soup, pasta, rice, beans, biscuits, fish, it does mean that we have low stock or no stock of several items.

Our wish list is for items that we URGENTLY NEED –

Sugar - whilst controversial, is an item that our clients  frequently request. For many people a sweetened hot drink often replaces a meal. The food we give people is aimed at putting calories into people who have had a very, very low calories diet. It is a short term diet.

Tinned meat pies

Tinned vegetables - not sweetcorn if possible

Long life sponge puddings

Tinned potatoes

UHT milk - semi skimmed and full fat

Instant mash

Jam

Ketchup

Long life fruit juice

Baby wipes

Nappies- size 6 only

Toilet rolls

Shampoo

Ladies deoderant

Clothes washing powder/liquid

Washing up liquid

Hand pump soap

We have a couple of  fundraising events coming up - a music evening arranged on behalf of the Foodbank. The other event is our ever popular quiz night to be held at GRC on the 12th July. Our last quiz night was a sell out so please contact the office for further details and to buy tickets.

Please note that our next training session is on the 25th June. Should you, or anyone you know be interested in attending then please contact me for further details or to book a place.

Many thanks for your continued support
