Team Epsom & Ewell got together one last time at the Epsom Playhouse last evening, Tuesday 31 July, to celebrate yet another successful year at the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games 

The Mayor, Councillor Neil Dallen, and the Chair of the Council’s Community and Wellbeing Committee, Councillor Barry Nash, presented certificates and trophies to Team Epsom & Ewell participants who attended the presentation evening. 

Awards were also given out for: 

Young Ambassador of the Year: Winner - Alice French 

Young Volunteer of the Games: Winner - Marcus Roberts 

Most Supportive School (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Epsom): Winner - St Clement’s Catholic Primary School 

The Charlie Steer award for Most Supportive Club: Winner - Westcroft Judo Club 

Most Supportive Team Manager (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Epsom): Winner - Dan Fernandez 

Most Improved Participant of the Games: Winner - Isabella Newton 

383 young people took part in the free trials and coaching sessions for the Games organised by the Council. The youngsters, aged between 7 and 16 years, are all residents of, or are schooled in, Epsom & Ewell 

The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games is a multi-sports competition, spread over two days, in which all eleven districts and boroughs in Surrey enter teams into different sporting events. There are events for all ages, including sports for young people with disabilities.
