Derek and team have been excellent on my project, would definitely use them again and be happy to recommend to anyone. I don't have much experience with buildings engineering but I don't think my work was terribly complicated in the grand scheme of things other than working out what's going on with my ageing house. Derek was able and willing to explain things to me in terms I could understand and relay to the contractors on site, obviously also providing all the necessary detail and technical descriptions and drawings as well. Perhaps the most impressive thing about working with SSA has been their speed and flexibility in responding to decisions and change. In particular, the contractor made a change to a steel post that was dealt with very efficiently, and Derek has also helped me with giving all the relevant information to building control and dealing with their queries in a way that led to a swift and satisfactory result. Very many thanks, it's been a pleasure to work with you.

When my architects sadly folded and was no longer able to advise me, Matt stepped in and gave his advice without charge, given the stressful nature of the situation. Superstars. Thoroughly recommend!

Excellent customer service. Quick to turn around plans - ran into issues in my build and SSA assessed the structural changes and produced revised set of drawings quickly to allow the build to progress without undue delays.

We were recommended SSA by our architect to develop plans for a complete renovation of a terraced Victorian Cottage. The combination of age of the property, its small size and boldness of design created a number of challenges. We found the whole SSA team to be excellent partners in this project. Unfailingly helpful, highly professional, responsive, always willing to answer questions and concerns, and thoughtful in finding appropriate solutions. We would certainly use them again and recommend them to any householder looking for a structural engineering company.

We were recommended to Derek and the team at SSA by our architect and cannot speak more highly of the work that they did for us to create the detailed structural design for a cantilevered roof over a new extension. The care and attention that was taken at every stage spoke volumes about the high standards that SSA set for themselves. A really fantastic team of structural Engineers. We used them for a kitchen extension and they were superb throughout.
During design stage they were very patient with our questions and took very seriously what is probably a very simple job. They supported us with re-draw and re-design to keep Thames Water happy when it came to pipe access and, once work started were incredibly responsive, even managing a same day site visit to propose a quick, simple solution to a Building Control challenge. That speed has saved us days on inactivity onsite already.

We employed him on several occasions (before and after purchase) to receive reports, opinions, and advice for several house renovations. SSA have been an absolute delight to work with. Having to change structural engineers after working with some rookies they really reassured us with their confidence, expertise and professionalism. They were a breeze to work with. Easy to get hold of via email, very responsive to any questions we had (as this was our first time renovation on a 100 year old house!) and the price was very fair for the excellent work they produced. We have been so impressed with SSA - both Matt and Christian were very knowledgeable and professional on their recent site visit regarding our upcoming renovation. We needed to ascertain whether or not a wall in our flat was load bearing and whether any alterations we are planning would affect the structure of the building - SSA were able to provide the advice and reassurance that we needed. Genuinely nice guys too. I highly recommend them and would definitely work with Derek and his team again on any future projects.

Derek was a complete godsend. I had to change structural engineers at the last minute and Derek managed to undertake a site visit the next day with a very professional and personable ‘can do’ attitude. I had sign off and all the paperwork the next working day. I really can’t thank Derek and his team enough. He is a real gem and really, really knows his stuff and is uber efficient and practical with his advice too! Can’t thank him enough for being so efficient and timely!

We are incredibly pleased with the service and structural building report provided by Derek and his team, especially we came to him with very short notice to ask for his help with a house purchase. They totally delivered what we were looking for in terms of professional advice and clarity, and Derek even agreed to call and debrief us immediately after his site visit on a Friday so that we wouldn't worry about it over the weekend. I'd totally recommend this company.

It was amazing to work with SSA as we they were especially helpful in answering questions and working with an array of people in our team. The construction team had all their questions answered and an ongoing discussion was possible in order to find the best solution for a Grade 2 listed building. As an Interior Design Studio we would use them again in a second and I know that the construction company will as well!

We did however encounter disputes between contractors and a utility company which frankly we would not have been able to resolve without Derek's expert guidance, intervention and arbitration. We could never have foreseen those challenges but were massively reassured to have access to the wealth of Derek's experience when the construction challenges arose. Great job. Derek and his team see the bigger picture. Both on the work he did on our flat and a friend who I recommended him to, we were grateful to have him there. He understands that building projects can be stressful and doesn't try increase the cost if you encounter issues, he works with you to solve them.

Really can’t recommend Derek and his team enough. We were having issues with a building quote supplied by our house buyers which seemed excessive and over complicated and which was having an impact on our sale price. After scouring the internet we found Super Structures Associates and based on the reviews asked them to investigate the problem further. Derek acted speedily to arrange an on-site visit and write a report which suggested a simpler and less costly solution. We were very grateful for his input at a very stressful time. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.
