For absolute beginners who are curious about wild herbs and want to know how to use them

Ever wondered about the 'weeds' that you see every day on the street, in your local park or the ones that are trying to take over your garden? What if we told you that they are superfoods that you can add to nutritious meals or use to heal a common cold or hayfever?

Join Enfield Herbal for this introductory class to wild herbs and their uses as medicinal remedies and culinary additions in the kitchen. We'll be dispelling the myth that all wild plants are poisonous and we'll show you that you can forage for your own wild garlic, dandelions and sweet cicely amongst other tasty and nutritious wild herbs.
This workshop is especially designed for absolute beginners who are curious about wild herbs and want to know how to use them. No previous knowledge of herbs or experience of herbs is required. We'll be exploring Capel Manor Gardens which has an incredible 30 acres of plant life.

In this workshop you will:

  • gain an understanding of how to identify local wild herbs and how to harvest them;
  • learn how to use wild herbs in basic herbal remedies such infusions, teas and syrups;
  • begin the process of learning how to incorporate wild herbs into your everyday kitchen;
  • increase your awareness of the spiritual and metaphysical uses of herbs;
  • learn the practical steps to take in order to ensure your safety on a herb walk

During the tasting you'll get to experience herb infused flat bread, crackers, fritters, houmous, pesto, teas and cordial. Our menu showcases foraged local wild herbs to their fullest. All homemade with locally foraged wild herbs and infused with love.You'll leave armed with the knowledge on how to identify the most common wild herbs and how to use them on a daily basis as well a booklet with recipes for all the delicious foods that we'll be tasting.
