 Researchers at University College London and The Wellcome Sanger Institute published results in the journal Nature, this week - stating that it's never too late to stop smoking. Previously, it had been thought that stopping would only prevent further damage to the lungs. But, states Dr Peter Campbell, stopping smoking has been shown to reawaken cells that replenish the lining of the airways, helping the lungs to recover from the ravages of smoking.
