Beanstalk is a national charity that gives one-to-one literacy support to children in primary schools who have fallen behind with their reading.  The charity trains reading helpers who are placed in primary schools.  Each reading helper works with three children twice a week for three terms.  Beanstalk provides resources and on-going training for the reading helpers.  Beanstalk is currently working in over 1100 schools nationally.

The West London branch supports children in primary schools in Ealing, Richmond, Hillingdon and Hounslow.  Beanstalk urgently needs volunteers to work in these boroughs.

Further information about becoming a volunteer can be found on the website www.beanstalkcharity.org.uk or by contacting Wendy Rochester at the West London office on 0845 450 0307

Beanstalk is the new name for Volunteer Reading Help and has a vision of a nation of confident children who can read and grow up to lead successful lives.
