Ever wondered what blue plaques are around in the borough of Ealing commemorating the famous people who have lived here?
In 2009, English Heritage, who now administer the scheme, published the first comprehensive history and guide to the scheme, with Yale University Press, entitled 'Lived in London: Blue Plaques and the Stories Behind Them', edited by Emily Cole.
The English Heritage website is searchable by person not place.
Fortunately, Mike Tiley The Plaques Officer for Ealing Civic Society is giving a talk on September 29th at Ealing Central Library to tell more us more about the range of commemorative local plaques in the Ealing borough. Tickets £4 from the library
